The epic film 'My Name is Khan' has smashed the record for the biggest opening of a Bollywood film in the UAE.

The National reported that 135,858 tickets had been sold in the four days since the movie began its commercial run in the country last Thursday.

Starring one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Shah Rukh Khan, the film centres on depictions of Islamophobia after 9/11. Directed by Karan Johar, the movie also stars Kajol.

The film had its worldwide premiere at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi last Wednesday. [ click here to see pictures ]

‘My Name is Khan’ has also been performing well in the US, where it raked in nearly $2.3m from 120 cinemas in four days, according to Reuters.

The New York Times called the film “an affecting fairy tale about the perils of goodness”.

SRK didn't have to act in this movie. He seems a bit challenged in any case.

well i see the movie of srk, mnik,, its was really a fantastic movie i have never seen a person acting like this. he is a natural actor. this movie teaches us a lesson that two kinds of peoples are there, good people and bad people, i just wanna say that those who like this movie and also srk are good people and those who dont, are just just BAD peoples........ aamir is also good but srk is the best... aamir only searches for strong stories he cant act like srk nor he can bring a weak and simple story to block buster as srk does and i think that is the main difference in both khans...god bless u srk u r the best

srk is best actre in bollywood on 2nd position gose to Aamir khan

SRK is a great actor no doubt, but honestly to do some romantic roles. He is not known to submerge himself into the character. He lacks the ability to research and be the character. And to all those who claim SRK is the best in the industry ? please, stop fooling yourself. He is not. Aamir Khan is undoubtedly the best in the industry. He understands character better and does his homework better. SRK should have done some homework about Autism. But then he is not an actor known for that. So I don't blame him. He is not someone whom I would associate with people aiming to push standards.

So, I was not the only one who walked out of the hall during the interval & 'forgot' to return to my seat!! I found his portrayal of an autistic person a little over the top. I have loved some of SRK's movies in the past and have nothing against him. He was great in DD, CDI & OSO but please dont compare him to Aamir. That man is a class apart!
