Broader horizons for Kuwait Airways

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Sunday, 01 April 2007

Kuwait's national carrier Kuwait Airways has revealed plans to launch direct services to three new international destinations by the end of 2007.

According to the airline's sales and marketing director, Ahmed Al-Hilal, Kuwait Airways aims to introduce direct flights to Beijing, Manchester and South Africa by the end of the year, and will completely restructure its existing network.

"By the end of April we should know the new structure of the network based on the arrival of new aircraft to our fleet," he told ATN.

The launch dates of new routes and details of the restructuring will be announced when a detailed study on the carrier's networks, operational plans and schedules has been completed.

The airline recently launched flights to Kuala Lumpur and Ahmedabad in India, and previous statements have suggested that flights to the US and Canada are also on the agenda.

Last year the airline opened new state-of-the-art first and business class lounges in Kuwait International Airport and London Heathrow.
