TRA polls on technology

Bahrain's Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA) is polling the public on the deployment of an advanced technology.
The TRA said it was asking the public for its opinion following the receipt of a request for the technology, but it has yet to disclose what the technology in question is.
The spectrum was not previously allocated for any particular use or technology, the authority said.
"In accordance with the process set out on the spectrum policy document, we are inviting comments on the possible deployment of a new technology in the 1785-1805MHz band," Alan Horne, general director of the TRA, said in a statement.
"The input received will assist us in coming to a final decision regarding the use and possible licensing of this spectrum, in order to further develop sustainable competition in the telecommunications market in the Kingdom," the statement continued.
The deadline for comments is May 2.
