Coconut Island flagged for resort
by Chris Jackson on Wednesday, 18 April 2007
Aldar Properties will develop a gated resort and residential development on two islands located off the west coast of Abu Dhabi, in a joint venture with the National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels.
The development will link Coconut Island with a neighbouring island to form a lagoon, which will be one of the resort's centrepieces.
The five star luxury resort features 128 guest rooms, two Royal suites, 10 private villas and 20 Club Suites.
Aldar Properties chairman Ahmed Al Sayegh said: "Our venture with the National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels demonstrates our commitment to the improvement of Abu Dhabi and is a clear application of our responsibility of contribution to the Emirate."
The island development will also include five-bedroom villas, each with Gulf-views and private swimming pools, which will be offered exclusively for sale to UAE nationals.
