The consortium will manage the airport on a 25-year build, operate, transfer (BOT) basis. Plans for the airport include the construction of a new terminal.

"This project is a key milestone in Jordan's move towards attracting private participation in the country's transport sector," said Saud Nseirat, Jordan's Minister of Transport. "I believe that it will pave the way for other public-private partnership agreements in Jordan."
