Watani initiative gives women chance to work from home

Watani, Dubai’s national identity programme, has launched an initiative to provide women in the UAE with the opportunity to work online in the private and public sectors, according to Gulf News.

Ahmad Obaid Al Mansoori, co-ordinator general of the Watani programme said ‘we hope we can provide a feasible solution which allows women the choice of raising a family without sacrificing a successful career in order to contribute to the development of their country.’

A workshop with Watani, Emirates National Development Programme and Dubai Women Establishment will be held tomorrow for companies in the public and private sectors to set in motion the work from home concept in the UAE.

Azzah Al Sharhan, director of the Emirates Nationals Development Programme, said that 3,716 of the 6,000 applications it received were from women.
