Company: Six Construct
Designation: Managing Director
As managing director of Six Construct, Pierre Sironval has been responsible for construction activities across some of the Middle East’s largest developments – especially in the UAE. The wholly owned subsidiary of Belgium’s Besix Group has worked on a selection of the Emirates’ major projects, including Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall and Dubai Tram.
During the past 12 months, Sironval and his colleagues have been busy supporting the delivery of Phase 3 of the $545m (AED2bn) Dubai Canal project, working on behalf of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The scope of Six Construct’s contract includes the drilling of the canal, the construction of three foot bridges that will link its banks, and the installation of four marine transit stations. The contractor aims to complete its portion of the works by September.
In conjunction with South Korea’s Ssangyong Engineering & Construction, Six Construct also submitted a successful bid to build the $1.4bn (AED5.14bn) Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah. Once completed, the hospitality project will feature almost 800 guest rooms and more than 230 serviced apartments.
Sironval attributes Six Construct’s regional success to its dependability. “We are known to deliver projects on time and also within the requirements and expectations of our clients,” he told Construction Week.
“Both from a quality perspective and a time point of view, people consider us an extremely reliable contractor.”
