He’s not complaining however — the firm has already sealed a number of landmark outsourcing contracts.

“This is completely out of the box and required a lot of guts to do. In that building, we don’t own the air conditioning. Basically what we are buying are BTUs [British thermal units], so we’re buying energy to cool the air.”

NCB also intends to outsource its furniture...

That’s fighting talk from Yutaka Nakagawa, executive deputy president of Sony — especially since the sheer size of the battery recall, close to ten million, has meant the company has had to ask rival manufacturers to lend a hand.
