Qatari Diar set for river resi resort in Khartoum

The Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company plans to develop a tourist and residential resort on the banks of the Blue Nile in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
The mixed use development will span 90,000m2 and will include a five-star hotel, restaurants, retail and commercial facilities and a sports club.
The resort will be surrounded by villas and offices.
“This is a vote of confidence by Qatari Diar in the future of Sudan and a signal to the world that this country can attract major overseas investment,” said Nasser Hassan Al Ansari, chief executive officer, Qatari Diar.
“The agreement marks the entry of Qatari Diar into the Sudanese market where we are investigating further development opportunities.
”The new development will be built opposite the Sudanese capital’s Presidential Palace.
