We'll call you...Chili's

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer on Sunday, 26 November 2006

Campaign: I've seen the ads for the Gimme 5 campaign. What's it about?

Chilis: We've just opened four new restaurants on November first and there's another one, the fifth one, that's going to open next month in Festival City. There's a campaign for all of them. On radio, newspapers and magazines, outdoor.

Campaign: What's the 'Spot the bus' thing I've seen?

Chilis: If you saw the bus and know where it is, you can call a number on the radio. We have 92 and 99FM and when you know where it is just call them and tell them the location. You will then enter the draw and have the chance to win 5555 equals to gold.

Campaign: You win it in gold?

Chilis: The money equals gold and you will take the gold. For the restaurant we have a free draw everyday. We make a draw and the table winner we're going to pay his money. He's not going to pay anything.

Campaign: It's my friend's birthday soon and I was wondering if I could hire the restaurant. Can I do that?

Chilis: Yeah, yeah. We don't have a problem, but we don't have cakes. We have a song for the birthday and our guys will do everything for this one.

Campaign: Can I bring a cake?

Chilis: I will ask about this one-

(Campaign is put on hold)

Thank you for holding. Yes, you can bring the cake and we will serve it for you.

Campaign: The idea we have is to come in fancy dress. Would we be able to come dressed as gorillas or something like that?

Chilis: As what?

Campaign: You know, like a monkey? Is that okay, or would we get thrown out?

Chilis: You want to dress as a monkey?

Campaign: Yes. Is that okay for the birthday boy?

Chilis: Wait, I will ask the operations manager- (Campaign is put on hold). Thank you for holding. Yes, it's okay if you want to wear it, there's no problem.

Campaign: That's good. Final question. Do you have vegetarian dishes?

Chilis: We have vegetarian food. We have the salads you can take the chicken from the salad. Don't put in the chicken. Er, what else- we have pasta with shrimp. You can take it without the shrimp. We have pasta with the chicken you can take it without the chicken. As you like.

Campaign: I appreciate the information. Thankyou.

Chilis: You are welcome, any time.

VerdictOur call handler was geared up to answer our questions and even made the extra effort to see whether it would be okay for us to come dressed as gorillas. He was well informed about the Gimme 5 campaign and was keen to help us with our birthday arrangements. The only area that let him down was the information supplied about vegetarian dishes, which would have disappointed a veggie caller.
