As global energy demand rises, the strain on the region’s transportation networks is starting to show. With pipelines reaching, and sometimes exceeding, their intended design life, the issue of pipeline integrity and pipeline management is becoming more critical. Pipeline operators today are asked to consider both safety and economics in deciding whether transportation networks are fit for purpose or require rehabilitation. These and other issues will be discussed at the Middle East Pipeline Management Summit. The event will include presentations on Kuwait Oil Company and ZADCO’s pipeline integrity management programmes. Project management and technical issues will also be discussed, covering issues such as balancing risk and performance in pipeline operation and extending the lifespan of infrastructure.
