Dell Q307 profits up year-on-year

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Sunday, 03 December 2006

Dell looks to be turning its fortunes around after its reported 2007 third quarter profits were up 11.7% year-on-year. Profits of US$677million for the three months ending November 3 is in stark contrast to the 51% drop in second quarter net income to US$502million the world’s second largest computer maker announced earlier this year. Revenue was up 3.4% to US$14.4 billion during Q3, but total operating expenses also rose by 8.7% to US$1.6 billion.

Dell had originally intended to publish its Q3 results on November 16, but delayed the announcement due to the current investigation underway by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and its internal audit committee.
