Arab Bank, Jordan, has started its new Internet Banking service for retail customers.

The service, based on the e-services platform Twister from Brokat, offers all regular banking transactions such as money transfers and account statements in both English and Arabic.

Brokat Infosystems Ges.m.b.H, Vienna, implemented the project together with the Jordanian Software Company Specialized Technical Services (STS) and its sister company Zeine Technological Applications (Zeine).

Twister will be used as the basis for Arab Bank’s online services covering its subsidiaries around the world.

The goal is to provide private and corporate clients with comprehensive services that they can use without installing any additional hardware or software.

The only thing they will need is Internet access and a Java-enabled browser. All data will be transferred in a 128 bit encrypted form via the Twister security components.

“Our strategic partnership with Brokat would ensure the delivery of new advanced services to meet our customers’ expectations,” said Mrs. Mais Safadi Abdel-Latif, the Project Manager Arab Bank.

“The Arab Bank project is the first of its kind in terms of size and services in the Arab countries. We have developed and Arabised the applications along with our sister company, Zeine, to be available in Arabic with the possibility of adding other languages based on the customer request”, added Amjad Rahhal, Area Manager for ST.
