Global architect Woods Bagot has been appointed to design the residential and commercial element of RAK Properties’ US $2.7 billion (AED10 billion) Mina Al Arab project in Ras Al Khaimah.
The work will involve the design of 200 villas, 150 townhouses and 2,500 apartments as well 25,000m2 of commercial space. This element of the project is worth $816 million.
“RAK Properties is keen on attaining the best designs for its projects and with a premier project like Mina Al Arab, an innovative and progressive firm must be trusted with its design, and Woods Bagot met our desired standards,” said Mohammad Sultan Al Qadi, managing director, RAK Properties.
RAK Properties launched its first project, Julfar Towers – a 43-storey twin office and residential project at a cost of $149 million – in February this year. Mina Al Arab, which will spread over 2.79 million m2, was launched in May.
“RAK Properties developments adhere to simple yet interesting designs; Woods Bagot is the right partner to perfect their vision,” said Mark Mitcheson-Low, Middle East managing director, Woods Bagot.
