UAE-based private equity firm, Capital Industries and Investments (CII), in alliance with Singapore's precast prefabricator, Construction Technology, is to build a 57,970m2 precast manufacturing plant in Dubai Industrial City.
Construction is expected to begin next month.
Munther Hilal, CEO, Capital Investments and Industries, said: "We aim to begin producing by October this year. The new company is called Sembawang Precast Systems and will see the entry of advanced construction technology into the Gulf region for faster and more efficient project completion."
According to Hilal, the integrated precast technology enables faster project execution, with the unique ability to erect four-tier precast columns at a time instead of the current one-storey approach in the region.
The plant is expected to cost US $3.7 million (AED13.6 million) with an initial daily output of 200m3, and will enable projects in the region to be built using precast systems.
