Alwaleed one of Time's 'Most Influential'

Kingdom Holding chairman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is featured in Time Magazine’s 2007 list of the world’s 100 most influential people.
Alwaleed is included in the ‘power givers’ category, for ‘fostering a better understanding of Islam,’ and ‘blending generosity with thoughtful activism to make contributions that count.”
Other ‘power givers’ include actress and UN goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie, Jordan’s Queen Rania and Bill and Melinda Gates.
Alwaleed was recently named ‘Man of the Year’ at the Arabian Business magazine Saudi Achievement Awards 2007.
Alwaleed’s charitable donations have included $20 million to Georgetown University to support its Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding, and $20 million to Harvard University for an Islamic Studies programme. He also contributed $20 million to the Louvre Museum to establish and Islamic arts section and $19 million for South-Asian tsunami victims, Arab News reports.
