Delta weighs in

Delta Sound Dubai general manager Andy Jackson.

Dubai-based professional audio engineering specialist Delta Sound has confirmed plans to relocate to larger premises and expand its warehousing operations less than six months after entering the booming UAE market.

A period of stellar commercial growth has seen the company, led by former Gearhouse Dubai staffer and L-Acoustics V-Dosc specialist Andy Jackson, move to consolidate its position as one of the country's leading suppliers of professional audio engineering services.

Jackson said Delta Sound was quickly forging a reputation as a dedicated pro audio specialist providing support to major production and equipment rental companies in the UAE.

"We've worked on a range of projects to date including the F1 launch in Abu Dhabi, the Cliff Richard concert in Dubai, and various corporate events, including projects for Dubailand," he explained. "We are carving a niche providing technical support to the major rental companies."

Despite this, Jackson said the company was committed to expanding the range of equipment it had at its disposal, which currently includes a pair of Yamaha PM5D consoles and speaker systems from L-Acoustics.

"We're considering investing in a Digico D5 console, which would be a first for the UAE market," he claimed. "I don't foresee a huge demand - at least initially - for such a high-end digital system, but it's important for our business to invest in cutting-edge digital technology and to promote it where we can."

Jackson said the fact that Delta maintained access to a database of more than 180 UK-based specialist audio engineers and technicians through its partnership with sister company Delta Sound UK, also provided it with a significant advantage over local rivals.

"Our relationship with Delta UK means we can arrange for specialised engineers to be flown to Dubai, depending on the requirements of a particular project," he explains.

Jackson said as a result of Delta's initial success, the company was considering branching into other sectors of the pro audio market.

"While technical support will remain our primary concern, we also plan to pursue opportunities in the installation sector," he confirmed.
