Irdeto and GIGA-BYTE co-develop DVB-H pocket PC phone

Irdeto has teamed up with GIGA-BYTE Communications to co-develop the Pocket PC GSmart t600 phone that is enabled to receive DVB-H signals. Irdeto's security technology for mobile TV which is embedded with CyberLink's Mobile DTV solution is now integrated with GIGA-BYTE's hardware which provides a Windows' Mobile OS and smartcard interface. "With Irdeto's content security solution, we are able to produce GSmart t600 which delivers high-end entertainment to people," stated Stanley Jenq, CEO for GIGA-BYTE. "It aims to simplify life by integrating digital TV and PDA."
As a conditional access vendor that provides content security solution for all of the different mobile networks such as DVB-H, S/T DMB and DAB, Irdeto is actively partnering with device manufacturers, receiver vendors and S/W solution providers to meet the fast growing and various market needs. "As the world's first conditional access provider for Mobile TV, we continue to identify new opportunities and create business for our customers to drive the growth of mobile TV," stated Graham Kill, CEO for Irdeto.
