Murray & Roberts tipped to win airport contract

Murray & Roberts Holdings, South Africa's second largest construction company is tipped to win a $1 billion contract for the expansion of Dubai International Airport.
The contract, which is for the construction of Concourse Three (C3) at the airport, is expected to be announced at the end of this month. The client is the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA).
Murray & Roberts has already built a concourse at the airport with locally based Al Habtoor Group. Murray & Roberts had a 40% share in this contract which was awarded in 2004.
Dubai is expanding its airports as it seeks to boost tourist numbers to more than 15 million by 2010. Ongoing projects include the $4.1 billion expansion of Dubai Airport and $33 billion construction of Dubai World Central, set to be the world's biggest airport.
