Aerovista is now in a position to make strategic investment.

UAE-based Aerovista Group has opened a new office in the Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA) as part of its ongoing expansion in the UAE.

"The move into DAFZA is a strategic one intended to bring us closer to our airline business customers," said the group's president and CEO, Apandi Lakhiyalov.

"Our commercial and operations team for the airline will be based in our new office. Shared service centres such as finance and human resources will also relocate to the DAFZA office. We will however retain our existing office in Sharjah Airport International Free Zone, (SAIF Zone) as our maintenance and engineering facility."

The UAE-based company has three core businesses: an airlines division, which operates a fleet of Boeing 737s in the MENA region; a travel and holidays division, catering to inbound and outbound travel; and a cargo division.

In addition to the new office in DAFZA, the company now has an airline operations office in SAIF Zone and a retail holiday shop in Zabeel Road, Bur Dubai.

Executive management is split between both Sharjah and Dubai offices.

"The year 2007 marks the 10th year of Aerovista's UAE operations. Over the years, we focused on keeping costs minimal and growing our customer base. Today we are in a position to make strategic investment to push towards building a brand identity for the group as well as the various business units that we run," said Ansar Babu, director - marketing, Aerovista Group.
