OUA Travel back in business post-Gonu

Muscat-based OUA Travel is back in business after damage caused by Cyclone Gonu forced its entire workforce to flee the office.
Staff evacuated the premises on June 5 when rising waters breached the outer door of the office, which is located in the Qurum business district of Muscat; one of the areas worst affected by the storm.
"Our building was under three or four feet of water," said C A Ravindran, operations manager, OUA Travel, a subsidiary of MMI Travel.
"All of our computers were completely damaged and will all have to be changed."
Agency staff were immediately relocated across OUA's three other Muscat offices to handle telephone enquiries and make alternative travel arrangements for clients. They eventually moved back into the office three weeks later once repairs were made and the office had dried out.
Ravindran conceded that "there definitely was some disruption to the business".
