Mobile phone retailer i2 has delivered on its promise of replicating its Saudi wireless internet cafe and digital store model in the UAE.
The company launched the cafe concept in Saudi Arabia almost one year ago and has now brought the approach to the UAE after securing retail space in Dubai's BurJuman shopping centre.
Visitors to the outlet can place their menu orders via mobile phones provided on each table and enjoy access to mobile services, free internet connection and the latest news on mobile devices.
"One thing that separates us from other mobile providers is that we have put in extra efforts to give customers speedy access to latest information and services through our various initiatives such as i2 club, i2 magazine, i2 TV and now the i2 cafe," said Dikran Tchablakian, senior VP for retail at i2.
Aside from the cafe, customers can browse a wide range of products in the adjacent 1,500 square feet digital store. The outlet carries products from mobile device vendors such as Nokia, Samsung, LG and Motorola.
i2 is the region's largest mobile phone provider and operates more than 340 stores. The company now employs around 1,300 staff throughout the Middle East and Africa markets.
