First Anantara spa launches

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Tuesday, 07 August 2007
Emirates Palace’s new Anantara spa features a blend of Moroccan and Thai design elements.

Emirates Palace opened its Anantara Spa last month, the first branch of the holistic spa and wellness brand in the UAE.

The Anantara Spa at Emirates Palace is operated by Bangkok-based MSpa International, which also manages resort and city hotel spas in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The concept is based around a water theme, according to chief operating officer for MSpa International, Steven Conquy.

"Each Anantara Spa draws its strength from the rich cultural traditions, historic heritage and natural beauty of its destination," he said.

The new spa features Morrocan-inspired interiors and Thai-style furnishings and spa fittings.

The seven treatment rooms are comprised of three double spa suites - complete with Jacuzzi tub, steam shower and grooming area - as well as two double spa rooms with attached shower and grooming area; one double Thai massage room, and one Vichy shower room with heated marble for all water-based treatments.

The facility also offers a traditional Moroccan Hammam, which accommodates up to four people. The Hammam area includes two Jacuzzis; two steam rooms; heated marble; an ice cave, and two private changing rooms, as well as a relaxation room and private dining area.

"Guests can look forward to an experience that combines the great therapeutic traditions of the world. The Anantara Spa brand offers culturally-adapted treatments," said Noel Massoud, general manager of Emirates Palace.

Treatments on offer range from international massage therapies, facials and skincare treatments to half-day spa signature treatments.
