Fine, a producer of hygienic tissues, hopes to boost sales in the UAE after making its entire range of products available via Bebida, an online door-to-door delivery service specialising in grocery items.
Consumers in the UAE can make orders online via Bebida's website, or by calling the company's contact centre. Orders are then delivered to the customers' doorstep within 24 hours.
Fine's decision to make its products available online was influenced by research indicating that Gulf Arabs are the most active internet users and online shoppers compared to other nationalities in the MENA region.
"Statistics showed that the Middle Eastern communities are the biggest users of the internet, especially in KSA. That is the reason why I thought we should go ahead with the Bebida," Peter Janho, Fine's chief area officer, told ArabianBusiness.com.
"We have adopted this approach primarily to target a niche segment of consumers who are used to doing most of their day-to-day shopping via the telephone or the internet, due to time constraints and the convenience factor."
