Press: expect more innovations at next year’s Arabian Travel Market.

Organisers of the Arabian Travel Market have appointed Simon Press to a new position of exhibition director, a move attributed to the significant growth the annual event has achieved.

The event's marketing team has also been strengthened with the appointment of a marketing executive and co-ordinator, and a regional account manager.

Reed Travel Exhibitions group exhibition director Mark Walsh said the event, which will be held for the 15th time next year, provided "key interaction and business platform for inbound and outbound industry professionals".

"Through these [management] appointments, our expanded team will be able to continually monitor what is relevant and topical in the regional tourism industry," he said.

"Paying special attention to Middle East requirements will further establish us as the region's number one travel and trade exhibition."

Press said the new team would introduce "new initiatives to the show, and build upon some of the existing programmes".

"We want to ensure there is enhanced content for visitors and exhibitors at Arabian Travel Market, such as increased international presence and private sector Middle East representation and topical seminars," he said.

Last May more than 23,000 travel industry professionals from more than 100 countries took part in the Arabian Travel Market.

The 2008 Arabian Travel Market will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) from May 6 to 9.
