Fitness company launches regional distribution hub

Italian fitness and wellness company Technogym has signed a joint venture agreement with Dubai-based Wellness Solution, which was already a local distributor for the company, to create Technogym Emirates.

The new company will allow Technogym to "better focus on the growing wellness demand driven by the fast development of hospitality, residential and leisure markets in the Emirates", according to Nerio Alessandri, Technogym president and founder.

"Together with our partner, we will have the opportunity to develop both a business and a social project in this strategic area," he said.

"From a business perspective, the United Arab Emirates represents a very fast-growing market and thanks to this joint venture, Technogym Emirates will be able to improve its customer service quality and its market penetration," added Dr. Hazem El-Khatib, Wellness Solution owner representative.

It is hoped that Technogym Emirates, which will be managed by Christian Deitrich, who previously held the position of sales director for Technogym Benelux, will strengthen the company's international market position.

The new Dubai base will also provide a convenient hub from which to co-ordinate all the company's Middle East and Gulf region distributors, El-Khatib added.
