Three contractors have been shortlisted for the reconstruction of Oman's Qurum-Al Sarooj beach road, which was badly damaged when Cyclone Gonu hit the sultanate back in June.
Galfar Engineering Contracting, Nagarjuna Construction Company and Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) are all in the running for the project, which is expected to take 10 months to complete.
Two bridges are to be built across tidal lagoons created by the floods. Construction of the bridges will involve piling foundations of 30 metres deep.
WS Atkins is the consultant on the project.
