Business open source software company Ingres is taking part at its first Gitex show in a bid to tap into the Middle East market.
The California, US-based company plans to launch its regional office, which will be located in Dubai, at the show.
"With the MEA region's IT market experiencing exponential growth, especially in the services area, we see this as the right time for us to establish our regional presence," said Peter Toumazi, sales director C&E Europe, Middle East and Africa, Ingres.
Ingres will also display its Business Intelligence (BI) appliances as well as Ingres 2006, an Open source database solution at the event.
"Through our debut at GITEX, we are confident we will be able to rejuvenate our ties with existing customers and partners, forge new relationships with the industry and raise awareness about our offerings," Toumazi added.
Ingres will be present at the stand of its partner company Emirates Computers.
