Iraq exports 3mn barrels crude to Turkey

by Lynne Roberts on Tuesday, 28 August 2007

Iraq has exported nearly 3 million barrels of Kirkuk crude through its northern pipeline to Turkey after restarting the flow through the line last week, a shipping source said on Tuesday.

"Iraqi officials told us today that the flow restarted last week," the shipper said. "Stocks have reached 2.9 million barrels."

Iraq would issue a sale tender for the crude when stocks at the Turkish terminal of Ceyhan reached 4 million barrels, a source at Iraq's oil ministry said. He declined to comment on the volume of exports.
