You know what it's like. Business meetings, networking functions, deal making. It all takes its toll. Here's a few ways to de-stress.

SPORTS

There's nothing like a run on the treadmill or doing some front crawl laps to get rid of all that pent up aggression and stress. Most hotels have gyms and swimming pools, but there's a multitude of other activities that you can try while you're in Dubai.

Skiing and snowboarding
Leave your worries behind and hit the slopes of Ski Dubai for a couple of hours. All clothing and equipment is supplied, whether it's skiing or snowboarding that tickles your fancy. Beginners can take lessons, while the show offs can cut it up on the expert run.

Pharoah's Club, Wafi City (04 320 0000). Open daily, timings vary.

Indoor golf
There are plenty of golf courses in Dubai, but when it's this hot outside 18 holes doesn't sound all that appealing. That's why the indoor golf simulator at the Crowne Plaza is so popular. One to 20 players can swing a full 18 holes in just one hour in front of a laser screen inside a 20ft by 20ft padded box. Each session costs Dhs180 and you can pick to from 50 simulated golf courses to play on. Bookings are essential. Call Denver Rozier, the machine's attendant on 050 296 9013.
Crowne Plaza, Sheikh Zayed Road. Open daily, timings vary.

Shooting
While probably not everyone's cup of tea, shooting is a popular way to let off some steam. At Jebel Ali you can choose between a .22, .32 or .38 calibre pistol and fire at the target board to your heart's content. If you've never done it before you'll have to pay Dhs75 for a 20-minute lesson, then it'll cost between Dhs40-75 (depending on the gun) to perfect the art of aiming between the eyes. If, while firing, you choose to imagine the person who just scuppered your big business deal, then that's your business.
Jebel Ali Shooting Club, Jebel Ali (04 883 6555). Open every day but Tuesday 3pm - 11pm).
