The Learjet 35 can be ready for take-off within two hours of a client’s request.

Royal Jet has purchased two twin-engine aircraft, its second acquisition in the past two months.

Having added its fifth Boeing Business Jet in August, the UAE-based luxury flight service has bought the two Learjet 35 airplanes to satisfy regional demand for private jet charter, according to Shane O'Hare, president and CEO, Royal Jet.

The aircraft have a range of 2000 nautical miles and can fly at up to 45,000ft at speeds up to 530mph, for four hours on a single fuelling, allowing them to reach any Middle East destination from any airport in the Gulf region.

"With a choice of configurations, from four to six seats, the Learjet 35 gives business leaders the flexibility they need. It is one of the fastest aircraft in its class and a superb aviation-on-demand tool which makes it feasible to fly to business meetings in, say, Dubai, Bahrain, Riyadh and Kuwait all in one day, which would be impossible by scheduled commercial airlines," said O'Hare.

He added that allowing for the granting of government and air traffic control clearance on some routes, the aircraft could be booked and ready to take off within two hours of a client's request.

Royal Jet is to use one of the Learjets as part of its Royal Med air ambulance operations, for medical evacuation.

"These smaller planes now make it much more cost efficient to fly patients, which will enhance options for medical insurers. The Learjet's lower operating brings the price down to below the insurance ceiling for most medical insurance plans," concluded O'Hare.
