Three unsigned contractors will compete to work on Omniyat Properties' US$136 million (AED550 million) residential tower, The Pad.
The unnamed contractors are to present proposals to Omniyat's board on 5 September 2007. MEP tenders will be awarded once a main contractor is selected.
"We have short-listed five MEP companies. Tenders are to be sent out by 15 September," said Jose Fernandes, projects director, Omniyat Properties.
"The scope for installation will include the full MEP package, with additional IT features," added Fernandes.
Situated in Business Bay, the tower is expected to be completed by October 2009. The Pad will have 231 apartments featuring smart-home technology.
The tower will include a state-of-the-art gym, running track and swimming pool, fitted with an underwater audio system.
