Air Arabia plans to operate 18 additional flights from Sharjah to Jeddah for Umrah pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Sharjah-based low cost carrier will operate the extra services between September 18 and October 12 for Umrah visa holders only.
"As the first low-cost carrier born in the Middle East, we are glad to offer these extra flights to meet the needs of religious pilgrims," said Kyle Haywood, commercial director at Air Arabia.
"During the Holy Month of Ramadan, when demand for travel to Jeddah for Umrah is especially high, we are extremely pleased to adapt our flight schedule to meet the needs of regional travellers."
The flights have been scheduled to depart Sharjah International Airport after Iftar in order to better serve customers who are fasting.
"By providing efficient, low-cost travel opportunities for religious pilgrims to the Holy Land, Air Arabia demonstrates its ongoing commitment to the communities we serve," Haywood added.
"During the Holy Month of Ramdan and throughout the year, Air Arabia will continue to meet the evolving needs of passengers travelling to and from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."
