Rapid growth in data volumes driving demand for advanced storage solutions.
ACN: What's your big focus going to be for this autumn in the region?
JA: STME is bringing additional services to the region comprising of backup audits and backup monitoring and reporting. We are also working with our enterprise customers in the region on archival solutions to enhance their backups and protect vital information, allowing for easy access to their corporate files through advanced indexing and search capabilities.
ACN: What are the big issues you see in the regional enterprise IT sector?
JA: Some of the issues facing the IT sector revolve around compliance and regulation and the need to provide information quickly relating to certain projects or people. The biggest pain points are due to the fast growth of information and systems which leads to internal management and disaster recovery problems.
ACN: What are the hot technologies that are shaping enterprise IT trends?
JA: Virtualisation, Archiving, and Value Added Services - including consulting and managed versions - are the hottest topics currently.
ACN: How can enterprises maximise their IT RoI?
JA: Often a change in some of the procedures and a small investment in new technology to enhance current investments is all that is required to transform an existing infrastructure. There are many enhancements to backup and archive solutions and with virtualisation and performance monitoring, an enterprise can maximise what it has and improve its overall service levels to end users.
ACN: Why should CEOs care about IT?
JA: IT is at the heart of enabling a business deal with growth, enabling innovation, speeding up the introduction of new products, protecting its data etc. If IT fails then at best it will slow up the effectiveness and efficiency of the business and it will inhibit delivering on strategy - but at worst it could cause irreparable harm to reputations and have a serious financial impact. No CEO can afford to have such a critical part of his business not be close to the top of his priority list.
