One of the most important aspects of GITEX Technology Week is the opportunity it provides for personal interaction with key customers, claims i-mate general manager MEA and India, Jack Craine.

"The more time we are able to spend with our key customers at the show the better," he says.

"The insight and feedback we gain from these meetings plays a crucial role in determining our strategy for developing new products and associated software applications over the course of the next 12 months."

i-mate technical support teams are on hand at the company's stand in Sheikh Rashid Hall to demonstrate to customers the features of the latest additions to its Ultimate range of smartphones, the 6150 and 8150 handsets. "Our stand is of a similar size to last year's show, but is broken down into three pods," says Craine.

"We are demonstrating the key capabilities of the latest additions to our Ultimate handset range.

"For example, in one presentation, we are demonstrating how a power point presentation or music video stored on the handset can be played back on a remote presentation monitor via direct cable link with no hardware in-between."

"Technology is one of the basic components that encourages growth in rapidly developing economies. This fact is perfectly illustrated by the rising demand for cutting-edge communication technologies in the Middle East in recent years."
