Optoma eyes home cinema

Digital projector manufacturer Optoma is celebrating the launch of its new entry-level projector, the 2000-lumen EP-721, at GITEX Technology Week. The company is also showcasing its complete range of home cinema projectors at the show.
"We're targeting consumers who want something a little different to a plasma or LCD display," says Adam Dent, Optoma MEA sales manager.
"There was a time when a cheap projector cost thousands of dollars, but now you can get a fantastic performing projector for under US$1000."
Dent says Optoma has seen a 150% rise in volume sales in the Middle East in the past year and expects this growth trend to continue for the foreseeable future.
"In the long-term, we plan to open an office in the Gulf, but in the meantime, we feel we are being well-serviced by our existing channel partners," he says.
