3M’s new signs set to stun

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer on Sunday, 09 September 2007

Visitors to GITEX Technology Week will be dazzled when they head to the Dubai Internet City Pavilion.

Diversified technology company 3M is exhibiting advanced digital technology solutions for the sign and graphics industry.

The products on display at the 3M stand include Vikuiti Rear Projection film from 3M and 3M Digital Signage Software Solution, a dynamic, flexible alternative to traditional static signage in a wide range of markets including retail, banking, public sector, travel, healthcare and public transport.

Ashish Goel, marketing specialist, 3M Optical Systems Division, Middle East, says: "Vikuiti Rear Projection Film is a highly versatile, self-adhesive film designed to transform any window or glass panel into a vibrant branding and promotions tool by enabling video, static images and dynamic messaging to be projected directly onto its surface.

"The innovative product addresses the poor visibility and reflection challenges of traditional on-glass or in-window digital signage implementations, excelling in bright artificial or natural light environments."

3M's content management system allows users to update or change messages dynamically, or even to show different messages at different times of day to address different audiences.

The software is compatible with popular multimedia file formats and offers the ability to divide screens into multiple content ‘zones'. It can also incorporate live data feeds such as weather or news reports.
