We live in a smart city and that means we deserve a super smart lifestyle. So what better way than to have it just a tap away?

From getting your dirty laundry picked up in 30 minutes to delivering tasty treats at your doorstep, and from turning your home squeaky-clean to getting around town: the following 5 apps have got it all covered.

1. Washmen www.washmen.com

No one likes wasting their precious weekend free time indoors doing laundry or running around dropping off and picking up their laundry and dry cleaning after work.

Washmen, the on demand dry cleaning and laundry service makes laundry day a thing of the past with all you can wash pricing and easy pickup and delivery.  Literally, you will never have to do laundry ever again.

Your laundry gets picked up in 30 minutes and will be delivered fresh and pressed as early as the very next day! The ‘All You Can Wash Bag’ offers you the chance to cram as much laundry as possible for just AED 79.

Unlike UBER, when pickups are busy, they offer happy hour and prices go down, making it everyone’s absolute favourite and go-to app for any laundry and dry cleaning needs.

2. ServiceMarket

Don’t we all absolutely dread it when it seems nearly impossible to get hold of a cleaner? With the ServiceMarket app, you can quickly book a cleaner on the go at AED 35 per hour.

Whether you need someone weekly or just to clean up after a weekend, they'll make sure someone is at your door at a time that works for you.

ServiceMarket (formerly MoveSouq) caters to all your service needs by helping UAE residents find a qualified mover, painter, cleaner, handyman or insurance provider.

If you need any service, rest assured they’re either already providing it or they’re working very hard to offer it to you shortly.

3. Deliveroo

We all have experienced the plight when we’re hungry and ready to eat an elephant but too lazy to ditch our comfy sofa. Step up the game and satisfy your sudden late-night cravings in just a few clicks.

Deliveroo is a food delivery service that delivers scrumptious meals from top Dubai restaurants straight to your home or office. So if you’re feeling hungry and can’t seem to bring yourself to move from in front of that TV, Deliveroo is at your service.

4. Careem

Finding a hassle-free app to get around town may seem like a herculean task. But, with Careem, commuting has never been this easy!

This Dubai-based car-booking app helps you book a ride in minutes and also enables you to track it in real time.

What makes this app an epitome of convenience is that it automatically locates your address using GPS and makes the entire book-a-ride process stress-free. Simply Careem, and you’re there.

5. Helpling

Messy home and have guests coming over? Helpling to the rescue! It’s a service-based app that connects you with experienced and insured domestic cleaners who will do household chores for you in the UAE for 35 AED/hour.

You can find and book trusted and fully-insured house cleaners to render your home spotless.

There you go: with just a few clicks here and there to download those 5 apps/gems, life is made real easy.

Great suggestions for apps! I would definitely add for discovering new places the app from Dubai Travel which is the oficial tourist agency. Also it is great to have the entertainer and get the best deals for the nicest restaurants and events and for shopping I recently discovered http://jadopado.com which now is my favorite online store.
