Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has headed to the 13th World Route Development Forum in Stockholm today in a bid to promote its airports in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to international airlines.

Routes 2007, which kicks off today in the Swedish capital, will bring together airlines and airports from around the globe to discuss new air service opportunities.

Peter Hoslin, ADAC's head of marketing said: "Routes comes at a time when Abu Dhabi International Airport is witnessing strong growth in traffic and gaining mounting recognition as an airport of choice.

"International airlines are definitely considering the value of a share of the Middle East's aviation boom and we have a lot to offer them. Both our airports are strategically located at the cross road of major international routes. They serve as the gateway to the UAE capital, which is investing billions of dollars into building a dynamic centre of business and tourism."

Abu Dhabi International Airport has a "massive expansion plan underway" he said, while Al Ain International Airport served the eastern region with an efficient cargo hub facility and was ideal for low cost airlines.

"Routes provides us with a timely opportunity to network with the global aviation industry and to show why Abu Dhabi and Al Ain International Airports provide good value to the industry, not only as transit airports but also as original destination hubs," he added.
