Halliburton’s move to Dubai

by Selin Arkut on Monday, 01 October 2007
Ahmed Lotfy has relocated to Dubai, along with Halliburton’s HQ.

Following the opening of a second corporate headquarters office in Dubai, Halliburton announced that Ahmed Lotfy, senior vice president of the company's eastern hemisphere, is relocating to Dubai.

"The Eastern Hemisphere is already a strong market for Halliburton, and I am excited to be back in Dubai, to add to our leadership here. Continuing to grow our business here will bring more balance to Halliburton's overall portfolio," said Lotfy in a statement.

Halliburton's strategic plan is to focus on expanding its customer relations with national oil companies while concentrating more on the company's investments and resources in growing its business in the company's eastern hemisphere.

"Although at the moment our extreme focus is on the Middle East, our services are spread out across the globe in the aim of expanding Halliburton on an even larger scope. As part of our growth, we are diversifying, with our main manufacturing sites situated in Malaysia and two in Singapore," said Lotfy. "We currently have 80 service industry projects running, worth US $100 million operating in the eastern hemisphere alone," he added.

"It is great for us to get exposure for the business, as Dubai has such a thriving and rapidly progressing oil and gas industry," said Cathy G. Mann, director of communications.
