Christie boosts training services

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer on Tuesday, 02 October 2007

Digital projector manufacturer Christie has established its training and after sales service facilities in Dubai after opening its regional headquarters in the emirate in June.

To mark the development, the company staged a two-day training event in Dubai for clients focusing specifically on its three-chip DLP projector range.

"The training programme, which covered issues from equipment set-up to minor repairs, proved very popular with our clients," said Christie EMEA sales director Simon Smith. "We also provided guidance regarding digital projection techniques as well as alternative applications of the technology.

Smith explained that Christie is in the process of negotiating a deal to co-host a training event in the future with another manufacturer.

Christie has confirmed deals with more than 10 equipment rental companies for the three-Chip DLP projectors since establishing its regional headquarters in Dubai.

"Our products have been used in the production of a host of major events in the region, including the recent Aerosmith concert in Dubai," said Smith, who added that the company also recently recruited a locally based engineer.

"Our engineer has spent the best part of the last four weeks in the UK learning about Christie technology," he explained.

"Our product offering is quite diverse, with technology designed for cinema and control room applications, as well as projectors for large-scale events and boardroom presentations.

"We will be looking to build on our engineering support services as we expand our presence across the Middle East region."
