Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) held the eighth graduation ceremony for the Maharat job-linked training programme this month, with 49 UAE nationals graduating from the nine week course.
The course is aimed at increasing the number of UAE nationals working in the hospitality industry.
DTCM executive director human resources and chairman of the Emiratisation Task Force for Tourism (ETFT), Ibrahim Yaqoot, said that the number of UAE nationals pursuing hospitality careers had substantially increased and was set to reach the 700 mark, largely as a result of the Maharat scheme.
