The UAE's incumbent telco Etisalat, and the creator of the BlackBerry, RIM, have teamed up to launch the region's first fully Arabised BlackBerry push e-mail smartphone.
The localised BlackBerry 8700g features both an Arabic user interface and support forArabic text input, and is available immediately.
Using this device, Arabic customers are able to compose Arabic e-mails, browse Arabic websites and input Arabic text into personal information management (PIM) software applications.
On a corporate level BlackBerry's Enterprise Server software - which is used to sync ‘push e-mail' messages to a firm's BlackBerry user devices - integrates with IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise server environments and features a broad set of IT policy controls that allows IT departments to tightly manage their handset deployments.
