Multiforms is an outside winner

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Saturday, 13 October 2007

Multiforms has won contracts worth a combined $88 million (AED 325 million) for cladding work on two projects in Dubai.

The first is a subcontract worth $40. 8 million from Samsung Corporation to undertake all cladding work at Boulevard Plaza, a commercial twin tower project at Emaar's Downtown Burj Dubai. The contract involves the completion of 60,000 m2 of exterior cladding to the project.

"Undertaking the cladding work for Boulevard Plaza with glass metal and stone skin forms will be one our most challenging jobs yet," said Firas Rifai, CEO, Multiforms.

The construction and infrastructural elements of the Boulevard Plaza project is being managed by Samsung Corporation.

"The innovative façade of the Boulevard Plaza buildings will include a ‘unitised curtain wall system' façade, giving it an incredibly original aesthetic value," said Y.J. Byun, senior project manager, Samsung Corporation.

This is Multiforms' fourth project within the Downtown Burj Dubai development.

The second contract, worth $47 million, has been awarded by Arabtec for the supply and installation of external cladding of Tiara United, a commercial twin tower project on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The glass cladding for the buildings, which is set for completion in 2010, will cover over 45,000m2.

Multiforms will create four coloured zones that blend into one another as the building ascends in imitation of the light spectrum.

Multiforms is a subsidiary of Emaar Industries and Investments.
