Middle East Foundations has been awarded a $6.8 million piling contract for a twin residential tower project as part of Abyaar's Acacia Avenues development Dubai's Jumeirah.

"Middle East Foundations has been mobilised to do the piling work for Olgana and Hiliana towers," confirmed Abdul Elbilly, COO for Abyaar.

Al Habtoor, Arabtec, Multiplex and SS Lootah have also been shortlisted for the main construction package.

Olgana, which will be made up of 137 apartments and 50 villas, will be constructed as part of the first phase of the project.

Hiliana will be built during the second phase and will consist of 137 serviced appartments.

Abyaar is keen to work with the best contractors in the UAE to ensure the quality of their developments is upheld.

"We want to make sure that the Abyaar name is maintained and ensure we are sustainable in the market, even if this means paying 20-30% more than the market price."

The 94,000 square metre development will be built next to Knowledge Village, and will have access to the Dubai Metro when it is completed.

Acacia Avenues is the first freehold development to date being built within the Jumeirah district, and will be ready for full occupation in the first quarter of 2009.

The gated community will include facilities such as a health club, swimming pools, spa, squash courts, children's play areas, cafés and shops.
