Dheeraj Wadhawan, managing direct of Dheeraj & East Coast Properties and Sahm Yaghi, CEO of EMCOR Facilities Management Services.

Emcor Facilities Services has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dheeraj & East Coast Properties to manage all its developments in the Middle East.

The MoU was signed by Sahm Yaghi, CEO of Emcor Facilities Services and Dheeraj Wadhawan, managing director of Dheeraj & East Coast Properties, at this year's Cityscape.

"The MoU gives Emcor the opportunity to present its entire capabilities from the design stage, all the way through to the final delivery of services to the end users," said Yaghi.

Wadhawan stressed that involving FM at design, through to operation increased the appeal to end-users.

"It will be better for the end-users who are buying apartments from us. They can be rest assured that their building will be managed professionally in the best possibly way. If you look after the building from day one, it will last a lot longer. And that's great for the end-user," he said.

Emcor will provide FM consultancy during design and then MEP and soft services once the building has been handed over. Some services will be sub-contracted.

Dheeraj & East Coast Properties currently has 22 developments in the UAE, with the first, DEC Towers in Dubai Marina, the first to be handed over to Emcor at the end of the year.

"Everything we develop in the Middle East will be handed over to Emcor. We keep producing and they will keep managing," added Wadhawan.
