Agfa HealthCare, a provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow solutions and diagnostic imaging solutions, demonstrated its new IMPAXTM Cardiovascular (CV) Suite at the recent European Society of Cardiology Congress 2007 in Vienna.
The solution suite now integrates multi-lingual, multi-modality image and reporting capabilities, according to Agfa HealthCare. The IMPAX CV suite supports improved productivity by providing faster access to a consolidated view of all cross-modality cardiology and radiology images within a single review station.
IMPAX CV delivers new features, including tightly integrated structured reporting, vendor-neutrality, legacy equipment image management, and secure global access to diagnostic data.
Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX CV provides an integrated view of patient data from a single point of access. This makes it well suited for for multi-modality cardiology environments, where clinicians need to connect with information from a variety of imaging equipment components already in place.
Among the modalities, cardiac catheterisation, echocardiography, non-invasive vascular, endovascular, rhythmology, cardiac CT, electrophysiology, and stress ECG image and data management create a single integrated cardiovascular information solution to meet the needs of hospitals and healthcare facilities across the globe.
To further the integration of readily accessible cardiovascular patient data with improvements in clinical workflow, the patient-centric architecture supports IMPAX Scheduling, a solution designed to optimize resource utilisation.
"Our healthcare customers have demanded the ability to improve clinical workflow productivity with consolidated access to the entire patient record, regardless of the originating modality department within the healthcare facility," states Erkan Akyuz, head of Agfa HealthCare's Imaging Informatics Business Unit.
"Agfa HealthCare shares this vision and has responded with the IMPAX platform of integrated department and enterprise solutions.
"The IMPAX Cardiovascular Suite delivers world-class cardiovascular IT solutions that help improve diagnostic productivity by integrating multi-modality imaging and procedural data and making these accessible, within the department and across the enterprise."
Hospital administrators will reportedly find value in the solution's integrated inventory management and the data mining and statistical analysis capabilities, developed to assist facilities in improving operating efficiencies.
Supporting Agfa HealthCare's stated vision of facilitating improved clinical workflow, the solution is built on an open standards-based platform that facilitates interoperability between modalities to support patient-centric information sharing.
The company's aim is supported by built-in attributes of the IMPAX platform, most notably structured information gathering and retrieval to support research and knowledge-building, as well as web technology that provides the cardiologist with the ability to access images and develop or share reports from nearly anywhere in the world.
IMPAX solutions are available to meet the imaging and informatics needs of facilities with a broad range of throughput volume, as well as the requirements of multi-location healthcare networks.
