KLM, Air France boost Dubai flights

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Air France will up their flight frequencies from Dubai this winter.
KLM will introduce four more flights per week taking its Dubai-Amsterdam service to double daily until March 29, 2008.
Air France will add one extra flight per week from Dubai to Paris from October 30 operating a total of 13 weekly flights on the route until March 29, 2008. All flights are operated by a Boeing 777-200ER and an Airbus A330-200.
Both carriers will be promoting their new winter schedules at the Business Travel Show Dubai, which will take place at the Madinat Arena from October 29 to 30.
The airlines combined offer four flights daily from Dubai to Paris or Amsterdam and one daily flight from Abu Dhabi to Amsterdam connecting to 728 destinations worldwide with the Skyteam network.
In total Air France and KLM operate 79 flights from the region - the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Tehran - to their respective hubs in Paris and Amsterdam.
KLM has also announced that it will operate a five times weekly Muscat-Amsterdam flight from December 3, served by an A330-200 aircraft and transiting via Kuwait.
"We are proud to resume service to Muscat and at this occasion we will thank our frequent flyer members with a double miles promotion in economy class and triple miles promotion in business class between Muscat and Amsterdam until March 31, 2008," explained A.M. Vasudevan, commercial manager for Air France KLM - Northwest Airlines in Oman and Yemen.

Emirates is not an option for many, as the network in Europe does not extend to for example Scandinavia.

Why would anyone fly on these airlines when they can use Emirates?
