Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) and Alshamel International have entered an agreement to provide regional travel services to corporate and government clients across the Middle East.
The partnership announcement, made at the Business Travel Show Dubai, which is being staged at the Madinat Arena from October 29 to 30, will start with Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai and Abu Dhabi) and is an extension of Alshamel's current CWT SatoTravel affiliate agreement, active since 2000. SatoTravel was acquired by CWT late last year and is globally the largest supplier of travel services to the US Government and military.
"Under this agreement it is now possible for us to offer a one-stop shop option for our clients and prospects in the Middle East, ensuring that CWT/Alshamel is present where our clients need us, 24/7, 365 days a year," said Coenraad Bijlsma, vice president, Global Partners Network, CWT.
He said CWT/Alshamel would be the first truly pan-Middle Eastern travel agreement in the region through Alshamel's single ownership of all its offices.
"Combined with locations in the region's main cities and 24-hour travel support, this new partnership will be able to offer standardised travel booking services and superior technology support for our clients in the Middle East," he added.
