"We are going to enhance the security cameras from 45 to 80 in 2008 and we are planning to increase the number of security to 30 people and," he added.

A 24-hour hotline for DIP will handle all security concerns.

In addition, DIP said the facilities management department would have a direct involvement with the security.

"Our FM is coordinating between the security, the maintenance and the cleaning. They will keep everything in place and liaise with Dubai Police and the Civil Defence on a weekly basis," Al Mesmar said.

Other new facilities and technologies include: a permanently based fire engine and ambulance, speed humps and wireless communication systems.
